In the 20′s, Moganshan was the site of the largest cache of gangsters and mafias of China, as “Big Ears Du”, one of the great leaders of the opium trade. During the Sino-Japanese War, between 1937 and 1945, became more important as Moganshan the Japanese occupied Shanghai, not far from there. Today, the burgeoning bourgeoisie of the city of Shanghai Moganshan has found its playground and rest. Tourism, of course, is not far behind.
Located about two and a half hour transfer by car west from Shanghai, Moganshan is a region dominated by mountains of bamboo. This mystical region of rolling hills interspersed with lush forests, is particularly picturesque with buildings: mainly stone houses dating from the turn of the century and farms where the geese used to hide during the robberies.
Several of these colonial-style structures have been converted into elegant resorts. Other hotels, more modern, have been constructed from environmentally friendly materials. From Shanghai to Hangzhou can take a train, with a total duration of 45 minutes. From there you can take a private vehicle move it to Moganshan. This can be coordinated with the hotel of choice for accommodation, or your hotel in Shanghai. Also from Hangzhou can take a taxi or a bus to Moganshan.
Another option is to rent a car in Shanghai and move, without making combinations of transport to your hotel in Moganshan, which will take about two hours and a half.
The third option is the bus from Shanghai to Moganshan, direct, it takes about four hours to make the journey and part of the Old North Bus Station of Shanghai with a frequency of three buses in the morning, every day. Call ahead, however, to avoid disappointment.
Moganshan When to visit?
A visit to Moganshan is a true getaway from Shanghai, stylish, and it is pleasant at all times of the year. During winter snow is a serene sanctuary, while in summer is more scenic.
